During your first occupational therapy session, you can expect to undergo an evaluation that includes an assessment of your child's abilities and limitations. Your therapist will work with you to identify a plan of care and develop a personalized treatment plan based on their needs and preferences.
The length of occupational therapy treatment depends on the individual and their specific needs. Some individuals may require short-term therapy, while others may require ongoing therapy to manage their condition and improve their level of function. Depending on what your insurance covers, most children receive therapy 1-2 times per week for 60 minute sessions. Your therapist will work with you to determine the appropriate length of treatment for your child's needs.
First time patients will need to call to schedule. If you are a recurring patient who has an existing appointment, you have the option to re-schedule using the patient portal if you so choose.
A referral order from your child's primary physician is required for an initial evaluation for occupational, physical or speech therapy.
Refer to the developmental milestones tab under the services section.
