Physical Therapy.....COMING SOON!

  • Core strength, stability & flexibility training to improve dynamic balance, endurance and reaching skills 
  • Gross Motor coordination training to address delays in running, jumping, climbing, lifting, kicking & throwing skills needed to access stairs and playground equipment
  • Orthotic fitting and adjustment assessments.


If you feel that your child is not meeting some of their developmental milestones as they should be, contact their pediatrician to request a referral for physical therapy services. A list of milestone "guidelines" is provided below. 

Developmental Milestones

2 1/2 - 3 Years Old

Locomotion

  • Jumps forward 24 inches using two feet.
  • Jumps down from object 18 inches high.
  • Jumps over string 2 inches off floor without tripping.
  • Walks on tip-toes 8 feet on 4-inch line.
  • Placing 1 foot on each step, walks up 4 steps.


Stationary

  • Stands on 1 foot for 3 seconds.


Object Manipulation

  • Catches 8-inch ball with arms extended.

3 - 3 1/2 Year Old

2 1/2 - 3 Years Old

2 1/2 - 3 Years Old

Locomotion

  • Runs 15 yards in 6 seconds or less.
  • Jumps forward 26 inches.
  • Walks forward 4 feet on 4-inch line.
  • Runs with arms moving across body using a high knee and heel lift, and trunk leaning forward.


Stationary

  • Without swaying more than 20 degrees, walks forward 8 feet. 
  • Stands on 1 foot for 5 seconds.


Reflexes and Object Manipulation

  • Throws small ball 10 feet forward. 
  • Hits target with small ball using underhand toss.
  • Catches 8-inch ball with hands, securing it against chest if necessary. 

3 1/2 - 4 Years Old

Locomotion

  • Walks down 4 steps placing 1 foot on each step without support from railing or wall.
  • Jumps up and touches line 3 inches above standing reach.
  • Runs and stops without falling.
  • Walks backward 4 feet.
  • Jumps forward 30 inches.
  • Hops forward on 1 foot, then hops forward with other foot. 


Stationary

  • With arms held overhead and without moving feet, stands on tiptoes.
  • With hands on hips and without swaying more than 20 degrees, stands on 1 foot.


Reflexes and Object Manipulation

  • Using an overhand toss, hits target from 5 feet.
  • Throws small ball underhand 10 feet.


4 - 4 1/2 Years Old

3 1/2 - 4 Years Old

Locomotion

  • Walks backward 5 steps without stepping off 4-inch line.
  • Completes forward roll. 
  • Gallops 10 feet.
  • Jumps forward 36 inches.
  • Jumps and turns so feet land in opposite directions from starting position.
  • Hops 2 feet on 1 foot, changes feet, and hops back.


Stationary

  • Stands on tip toes without swaying more than 20 degrees.
  • Stands on one foot without swaying more than 20 degrees.


Reflexes and Object Manipulation

  • Hits target 12 feet away using overhand toss.
  • Bounces small ball hitting wall from 5 feet away.
  • Catches ball with arms bent from 5 feet aways with hands only.

4 1/2 - 5 Years Old

4 - 4 1/2 Years Old

Locomotion

  • Jumps 10 inches off floor without tripping.
  • Runs 10 feet, picks up can and brings back to staring position without tripping.
  • Skips 8 steps using appropriate alternating arm and leg movements.
  • Jumps back and forth across line taped on floor. 
  • Accurately imitates arm positions. 


Stationary

  • Stands on each foot for 10 seconds without swaying more than 20 degrees.
  • Completes 3 sit-ups.


5 - 6+ Years Old

4 - 4 1/2 Years Old

4 1/2 - 5 Years Old

Locomotion

  • Skips 10 feet using opposing arm and leg movements alternating feet.
  • Hops 20 feet in 6 seconds on one foot without free foot touching floor.


Stationary

  • Completes 5 sit-ups.
  • Performs 8 push-ups.
  • Kicks ball traveling 12 feet in the air.


Reflexes and Object Manipulation

  • Bounces and catches small ball.
